HealthFirst Family Care Center, Inc. is proud to announce that Dr. Heidi Peterson will be a presenter at the following event. Her presentation will be delivered in English on February 3 and in Spanish on March 3. The Rhode Island PBS, Rhode Island Student Assistance Services (RISAS), and the Rhode Island Department of Behavioral Healthcare, Developmental Disabilities and Hospitals (BHDDH), present Opioids in Our Community: Perspectives for Parents on Wednesday, February 3, 2021, from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The virtual event brings parents and guardians together with a panel of educators, counselors, and health experts throughout our region. The goal of the event is to provide parents and guardians with insight on opioid use disorder, as well as to share informative resources like Rhode Island PBS LearningMedia, which can be used to effectively engage their children around substance use awareness and prevention. By creating a safe and inclusive space for parents and guardians, this event will allow them to share their concerns, validate their experiences, and learn how to spot warning signs in their children.
Opioids in Our Community: Perspectives for Parents will be held on Zoom. The event is free to attend but registration is required. For more information, visit ripbs.org. or follow this link: http://events.r20.constantcontact.com/register/event.
