The “soup man” from the Brockton/Bridgewater area will be coming to Fall River on Saturday, October 30th around 11:15 am to give out lots of winter gear, hot soup, etc. Please spread the word to the homeless! They will be located at the VA building on Pine Street but ALL homeless are welcome, not just veterans. Free birth certificate sheets will also be available to anyone who needs one.

Food Distribution from the YMCA: Distribution in Fall River occurs every 1st and 3rd Friday at the YMCA, 199 North Main Street.  Distribution starts at 8:30am.

One Family is offering a program that helps single parents who have been homeless, or are low-income, achieve economic self-sufficiency through education.  They provide academic scholarships, leadership training and career success coaching as part of their one-year program, renewable for up to 3 years for an associate degree program and 5 years for a bachelor’s degree program.  If you or someone you know is interested in applying for this scholarship here is the information.
